It’s pretty likely that your school or organization wants you to use page numbers. They make it easier to navigate a document, and provide an easy point of reference during the editing process.
But if you are working on a document that already has page numbers but you need to take them of of your pages, then you may be wondering how.
Fortunately you are able to eliminate the page numbers from the header or footer of your Google Docs document by editing that section of one of the document pages.
How to Remove Google Docs Page Numbers
The steps in this article were performed in the desktop version of Google Docs. I am using the Google Chrome browser, but this will work in other desktop browsers as well.
You can click here for information on adding a page in Google Docs if you need to add a new page in the middle of an existing document.
Step 1: Open your document in Google Docs.
Step 2: Double click inside the header or footer where the page numbers are located.

Step 3: Delete the page number from that location.

Note that page numbers are a specific object in Google Docs, and work differently than regular content. You will only need to delete one page number from one page in order to remove every page number from every page.
You can then click inside the body of the document and scroll down to confirm that all of the page numbers have been removed from the document.
